WHO ARE WE?

Finca Las Pacayas, located in the municipality of Palencia , transformed an area originally covered in weeds, requiring frequent mowing to prevent forest fires, into a sustainable agricultural initiative. Previously, weed management involved only seasonal jobs, with limited impact on the community. In 2017, with a long-term vision, the farm decided to convert this area into a pilot Persian lime plantation. The positive results of the initial project led to a significant expansion, benefiting both the surrounding area and the local economy by generating stable employment and promoting agricultural development in the region.

Advanced Methods and Efficient Production

Finca Las Pacayas is distinguished by its implementation of the most advanced agricultural methods to optimize its crops, supported by expert advice in citrus and comprehensive pest management. Its constant focus on process improvement ensures efficient and sustainable production.

Thanks to its gravity-fed irrigation system, the farm maintains humidity even during the summer, ensuring ideal conditions for continuous Persian lime production 12 months a year. This sustainable model allows for the production of excellent quality products, with carefully managed plantations, which not only generate stable employment but also boost economic activity in areas that previously lacked these opportunities.

Impact on the Community

The Finca Las Pacayas initiative not only transformed the land but also the local economy by generating stable jobs in a region that previously lacked opportunities. Its commitment to sustainable agricultural development has boosted economic activity and improved the community's living conditions.

Finca Las Pacayas has been recognized for its valuable contribution to the professional development of students at the School of Technical Training and Education. Through field visits as part of the diploma program in Persian lime cultivation, the farm provides students with essential practical experiences to complement their theoretical studies. This approach reinforces the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and the agricultural sector in the training of future professionals.
